Film of the Year?

Is BARFI! the film of the year according to you?

A lot of things have been said and written about the film.
A whole lot of people have broken into mad frenzy, loving or hating the film.
But, I must say, that just because it borrows heavily from various films and having many of the stalwarts as inspirations for the portrayals of the lead characters, it should not be thought of as a lesser film in itself.

The film stands out on its own. It makes us laugh, and cry, and root for the characters. And we become involved every which way. That is the strength of the film!
